Why is Nebkiso?

Because fragrance should be fun.

We got tired of the fragrance industry's obsession with luxury, exclusivity, and $300 bottles that all smell vaguely of the same department store. We wanted scents that reflect how we actually live: online, curious, a little chaotic, and deeply fond of things that smell interesting rather than expensive.

The name comes from Esperanto: nebula kiso, roughly "cloud kiss." We liked the idea of scent as something fleeting and intimate, like a cloud passing through. Also it sounds good.

We started this because we couldn't find fragrances that smelled like the things we wanted to smell. Mechanical keyboards. Strawberry milk. A bartender's last smoke break. So we made them ourselves. If you've been looking for something that doesn't exist yet, maybe we made it. And if we didn't, the atelier is open.
